What is a hunt and how do I use it?

A hunt in WeHunt is a temporary event where you and your team can gather, track each other in real time and report everything that happens during a hunting day. The feature makes it easy to plan and document hunts in a structured and efficient way.

How to "Start a hunt"?

Follow the steps below to start a hunt in the WeHunt app:

  1. Open and log in to your WeHunt app.
  2. Click on "Hunt" in the bottom right corner.
  3. You can select to "Quick start hunt" or you can "Plan hunt" in advance. You can read more on quick starting a hunt here and more on planning the hunt here.

Benefits of using the hunt:

Once a hunt has started, you get access to several smart features:

Observations – Report and track real-time wildlife sightings.

Downed game – Mark downed animals for better tracking and documentation.

Map markers – Add stands, tracks, and other key locations.

Members and dogs – See the live location of all team members and their dogs.

Game report – An automatic summary of everything reported during the hunt.

Privacy – Hunts remain private by default and are only visible to others if the hunt code has been shared.

Please note:

Hunts can currently only be quick-started in the WeHunt app and can only be deleted once they’ve been started.

We recommend creating one hunt per hunting day, rather than for an entire week or season.

This helps keep your reports organized and easier to follow. With upcoming features, you'll receive reports per hunt, making it smoother to get a clear overview of each day's activity without having to scroll through longer time periods.
