How does the tracking interval affect battery consumption on the G10i?

Tracking intervals from 3 seconds to 1 minute 59 seconds use full power mode. The device updates its position continuously and sends position data at the selected interval. This results in the highest power consumption.

When the dog starts or stops barking, a fresh position update is calculated and sent immediately together with the barking information.

Tracking intervals from 2 minutes to 5 minutes allow the device to use power saving mode if needed. The device sends position updates at the selected interval.

Dog barking does not affect the position update frequency at these intervals. The barking trail shown on the map follows the accuracy of the selected tracking interval.

Outdoor temperature and network conditions also affect power consumption. Weak mobile network coverage may increase battery usage.
