WeHunt FAQ for Tracker users

Below you can find frequently asked questions.

What are the key features and transition highlights in New WeHunt?
New WeHunt unifies WeHunt, Tracker and Burrel into one app with a redesigned experience based on user feedback, more stable and secure code, a new interface and a more complete feature set – improving dog tracking, team hunts and ground management while making hunting smarter, safer and easier.
What's the biggest improvement I'll see as a prior Tracker user?
Tracker users get a modern interface, increased reliability for dog devices, new and improved tools for planning, running and following up hunts, Garmin GPS users can be included in teams, a web app becomes available, trail cameras can be integrated directly and there is native support for WeHunt and B-Bark devices.
If I have an on going subscription in Tracker or WeHunt today, will that work in the new app?
Yes, all active WeHunt and Tracker subscriptions continue to work in the new app; if you have WeHunt Standard, Premium, GPS Max or a Tracker app or device subscription, you simply log in with the same account and can keep using your license after the transition – no action required. Read more about your subscriptions and licenses in WeHunt.
I forgot my username or password, how do I recover my account?
If you used Apple or Google sign-in – as all Tracker users did – you must reset your details directly via Apple or Google. If you signed in to the old WeHunt app with an account and password, you can reset the password yourself. If you run into any issues, contact support.
Do I need to do anything before hunting season 26/27 starts?
The new WeHunt app was released on 8 June 2026 and is available now. We highly recommend updating and checking that everything works before the season starts. All your old data can easily be transferred over when you log in.
How will users be informed about the changes and deadlines?
Information will be shared through the website, in-app messages and social media, so following WeHunt channels is the best way to stay up to date on changes and key dates.
How long will my data be stored when the old apps are sunsetted?
After you have logged in, all your data is available. Note: other Team members must do the update before you can see them on Teams and the devices.
From where can I download the new WeHunt application?
You will be able to download the new WeHunt from the App Store or Google Play.
What happens to my Tracker data, and how can I transfer it to WeHunt — especially when the old app is discontinued?
Your Tracker data is preserved. Download the WeHunt application and log in with the same Apple or Google ID you used in the Tracker app, and you’ll be guided through transferring your data into WeHunt.
Will all Tracker features be available in the new WeHunt app?
Yes, the features you rely on most are there. WeHunt focuses on the functions that are widely used and highly valued by the community, and adds new ones on top. A few rarely used Tracker features may work differently or arrive later, but the core experience you know is fully supported.
Will Tracker only be hardware and not have it's own app?
Yes, going forward Tracker devices will be used together with the WeHunt app rather than a separate Tracker app.
Why are you closing the Tracker app and moving everything to WeHunt?
The Tracker app will be phased out. However, Tracker’s technology, hardware, and team remain. We are bringing Tracker and WeHunt together into one shared platform under the WeHunt name. The hardware stays the same. The people behind it stay the same. Our focus on precision and reliability stays the same. Running two separate systems in parallel would, over time, lead to slower development, more complexity, and greater risk before each season. By uniting everything into one platform, we can focus on stability, faster improvements, and a safer start to every hunt.
Will Tracker devices (hardware) continue to work after the app closes?
Yes. Tracker devices will continue to work. The hardware remains the same, and the technology behind it remains the same. What changes is the software platform used to access your data. Your device connects to WeHunt instead of the Tracker app.
Can I turn my position on and off like in Tracker?
Yes. Position sharing remains under your control in WeHunt. You can choose when to share your position and when not to. We are continuously refining the experience to make it clear and reliable in real hunting situations.
Can I adjust the tracking interval myself?
Yes. From the info panel that appears when you click on your dog, or from the panel that is permanently pinned to your map view.
Is premium depth data available in WeHunt?
Yes, in Finland. We are also looking into the possibility of bringing depth curves to other countries.
Can I replay tracks (track history playback)?
Yes, this feature is already available in the app.
How can I change the icons to look like they do in Tracker?
  • Go to “View Settings” (the gear icon).
  • Scroll down to “Appearance”.
  • Turn off “Map pin background” and “Label background”.
What happens to my waypoints and map markers from Tracker?
They will be transferred during migration.
How are my maps transferred to WeHunt?
They will be transferred during migration.
What happens to my devices and dogs during migration?
They will be transferred to WeHunt, and you’ll find them in the left-hand menu under Devices and Dogs.
What happens to device admins when moving from Tracker to WeHunt?
They will be transferred during migration. However, the owner of the device must first migrate to WeHunt before admin rights can be migrated.
What is a “Hunt” in WeHunt?
A Hunt in WeHunt is a shared hunting session. When a hunt is started, participating hunters and dogs appear on the map for those who choose to share their positions. During the hunt, you can chat with your team, report harvested or observed game, and coordinate in real time. When the hunt ends, location sharing stops and a hunt report is generated automatically.
How is a Hunt different from Tracker Groups?
In Tracker, a Group works like a permanent room where members can always see each other and their dogs as soon as they are logged in. The focus is on continuous live tracking.

In WeHunt, a Hunt is created for a specific hunting occasion with a start and end time. It gathers the participants in a temporary session where you can track dogs and hunters, manage stand placements, and record harvest and wildlife reports for that particular hunt. This makes it easier to organize and document each hunting day separately.
What happens to my existing Tracker Groups?
Your groups will be transferred to WeHunt, where they will be referred to as “hunting teams”.
Can I share my devices or dogs with others in WeHunt? How does that work?
Yes, you can share dogs and devices in WeHunt. You can choose to share them so that members of the team and/or the hunt can see your devices and dogs. You can also share administrator rights to your devices so that other users can use them on, for example, their dog.
What happens to my active Tracker subscription?
It will automatically be converted into a WeHunt subscription.
Will my Tracker subscription renew automatically?
Everything stays as it is. Your subscription will automatically be converted into a WeHunt subscription.
What happens if I have subscriptions in both Tracker and WeHunt?
They will be combined into one WeHunt subscription going forward. You will not lose anything that you have paid for in either WeHunt or Tracker. Read more about how this works and what to expect.
Should I cancel any subscriptions myself, or do I not need to take action?
No action is needed. Any subscription you have had with the older apps will continue to work going forward. If you wish, you can switch to one of the new subscription types.
